I like to think of image making as an intimate process that not only captures a moment as the eye sees it, but also explores how the mind envisions it and interacts with the other senses to make a moment so distinctly special and different to each one of us. Photography has been a part of my life from as long as I can remember thus becoming an inherent attribute. The layers underlying a composition fascinate me most about photographing and I'm always looking for fresh possibilities and ways of expressing these facets that give an image a life of its own. Much of my image making happens out of relentless daydreaming, the fleeting moments that flash past leaving behind curious trails, the need for solitude and immense love for nature & travel.
After studying photography at the Light & Life Academy(Ooty), I took some intensive classes at the Santa Fe workshops to understand more about the direction I wanted to take. So my main focus spans across fine art images, travel stories and lifestyle oriented work. I have had the opportunity to collaborate, exhibit and publish my work within the country and internationally. Books and book making have a special place in my photographic journey and I am starting to explore the possibilities here. I love the intimate manner in which a book can communicate and make a connect.
Nature is primarily what inspires me, and through my work I hope to be able to communicate that, and more importantly, how necessary it is for us to reconnect with our world and the environment in simple, heartfelt ways. Currently based out of Bangalore, I like to divide my time between artistic pursuits and commissioned projects.
